I am excited and proud to have been recognized, for the third time, as a Master Artist in the Country Blues guitar styles. I am a grant recipient for the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program from the Ohio Arts Council.
Mark Freeman and Charlie Mosbrook, two wonderful songwriters, will study traditional acoustic blues styles, and be my apprentices. I am looking forward to working with them.

I have known Kevin Richards for close to twenty years. As chair of the Board of Roots of American Music I have marveled at his passion for education using American roots music and his ability to continually develop successful new programming that never fails to inspire.
Add to that, his encyclopedic knowledge of roots music and it would be difficult to find another musician who betters carries on this tradition.
