I am honored to be recognized by the Ohio Arts Council as a Master Artist in the Country Blues guitar tradition. I have been working as a grant recipient the past six months in their Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program.
Mark Freeman and Charlie Mosbrook, two wonderful songwriters, are the guitar apprentices, and I really enjoy working with these two talented artists. I would like to publicly thank the Ohio Arts Council for their support, and for keeping the Country blues alive.

I have known Kevin Richards for close to twenty years. As chair of the Board of Roots of American Music I have marveled at his passion for education using American roots music and his ability to continually develop successful new programming that never fails to inspire.
Add to that, his encyclopedic knowledge of roots music and it would be difficult to find another musician who betters carries on this tradition.
